What data we process

The website has no user accounts. We process:

correspondence data – if you e-mail or call us: name, e-mail address, phone number, company name and the content of your message
analytics data – only if you accept analytics cookies: approximate location based on IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, source and time of visit, clicks and scrolling
technical data – IP address and request details recorded in server logs by our hosting provider
pac-p. game scores – if you save a score: the nickname you choose, the score, level and time saved; for abuse protection a hash of your IP address, never the address itself
free video lesson sign-ups – your e-mail address, whether you agreed to e-mails about the course, the sign-up date and the consent date; for abuse protection a hash of your IP address, never the address itself

Purposes and legal basis

Replying to your message and discussing cooperation – Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us)
Website traffic statistics (Google Analytics 4) – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent)
Security and proper operation of the website, server logs – Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest)
Running the public pac-p. leaderboard and preventing cheating – Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest). Nicknames are public, so do not use your full name.
Giving you the free video lesson after you enter your e-mail – Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the service you ask for)
E-mails about the course and new lessons – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent) and Article 398 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law. We send them only if you tick the consent box when signing up. You can withdraw consent at any time: click the unsubscribe link in any e-mail or write to us.
Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims – Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR

Providing data is voluntary. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects.

Cookies

We store cookies and similar technologies on your device in line with Article 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law of 12 July 2024. Necessary ones are stored without consent, all others only after you agree.

Necessary – remember your choice in the cookie banner (pato_consent in browser storage) and, if you play pac-p., your best score and nickname (pacp_best, pacp_nick) so you do not have to type them again, and, if you sign up for the free lesson, your access to it (the kurs_lekcja cookie and pato_lekcja in browser storage) so we do not ask for your e-mail again. No consent required.
Analytics – Google Analytics 4 (_ga and _ga_* cookies). Set only after you click “Accept all”.

Until you consent, the Google Analytics script does not load at all, so no data reaches Google. When you withdraw consent, we delete analytics cookies from your browser. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The video in the free lesson loads from YouTube or Vimeo only after you click the play button – from then on the video provider may store its own cookies or similar data on your device under its own rules.

Recipients and transfers outside the EEA

Your data may be shared with companies that provide services to us. The website fonts are hosted on our own server, so displaying them does not send data to third parties.

Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC – Google Analytics 4, only with your consent
Brevo SAS (France) – sending e-mails about the course, only with your consent
YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) and Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc.) – video player for the free lesson; your browser connects to them only after you click the play button

Data sent to Google may be transferred to the USA. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which the European Commission found an adequate level of data protection. Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission also apply.

How long we keep data

Correspondence – for the duration of our talks and cooperation, then until any claims become time-barred
Google Analytics – 14 months from collection
Your cookie banner choice – until you change it or clear your browser data
Server logs – according to the hosting provider's settings, usually a few weeks
Game scores – until the game is removed from the website or you ask us to delete them (write to us with your nickname); the IP hash – at most one hour
Free lesson sign-ups – until you ask us to delete them; if you agreed to e-mails about the course – until you withdraw consent, and after that only as long as we need to show that consent was given; the IP hash – at most one hour

Your rights

You have the following rights:
